There are hundreds of books written on the topic of black jack available throughout your local bookstores and on the internet. If you have the desire to learn how to play blackjack like a professional then you need to be willing to put in the work. In order to become better at anything you need to always practice and learn new things. In blackjack it’s really simple to learn the basics of the game, but that isn’t going to help you beat the casino. I’ve compiled a small list of some of the best beginner blackjack books that you should read if you want to master this card game.
* One of the best beginner blackjack books for players to read is titled “Basic Blackjack”. The book deals with all of the different blackjack variants, so you not only will learn how to play all of the variants in the casinos, but you’ll also be able to master the beginner strategies. The book is written by Stanford Wong.
* A book titled “Golden Touch Blackjack Revolution” is a must read for any new blackjack player who wants to learn the simplest method of card counting. There are better systems out there that are more advanced, but you need to start with the easiest information before moving onto the advanced books.
* “Twenty-First Century Blackjack” is a book that will go through some simple methods that players can use in the casino today apart from the old school methods of card counting. There are some excellent systems to pick up by reading this book and it will give you a new outlook of the game of blackjack.
* Another excellent read which will not only give you beginner techniques, but also some advanced blackjack insight is “Play Blackjack Online like the Pros”. This book goes into great details about some of the medium level card counting systems out there and is a nice step up from the beginner books.
* “Burning The Tables in Las Vegas” is a book that is written by one of the best blackjack players of the past couple decades. Ian Andersen is a high roller in Vegas who wrote this book that is filled with awesome information. You will not only learn beginner and advanced techniques and betting systems, but it’s filled with day-to-day life experiences on being a successful high roller.
* Ken Uston is one of the most influential blackjack players in the history of the game and he has a book that is titled “Million Dollar Blackjack” I don’t advise taking all of the systems to heart because a lot of them aren’t any good anymore and you need more relevant systems. What the book does offer though is a slew of information about the history of blackjack and some awesome stories from one of the most active blackjack players in the world in the 70’s.
There are plenty of other excellent blackjack books for beginners and advanced players, but this is a great starting point for any book collection. You should be able to find these books on Amazon for dirt cheap prices since most of them are fairly old now.
If you’re looking to watch the best soccer in the world every year then there is nothing better then watching the UEFA Champions League. Every year there are a total of 32 teams who are allowed to participate in the Champions League. In order to qualify for a spot in the Champions League teams need to finish in the top of their domestic leagues the prior season. Only the best teams from Europe qualify for this league and it is always the best quality soccer matches of the year.
Certain soccer betting leagues in Europe are allowed to send four teams whereas some of the smaller leagues are only allowed to send one or two teams. Only the top tier soccer leagues are allowed to send four teams into the Champions League and those include the English Premiere League, La Liga and Serie A. Once the 32 teams have been selected or have earned their spot into the Champions League, every team will be split up into groups of four.
Once the teams have been split up into groups they will begin playing the first round. For the first round every team will play every team in their group twice. Each team will be allowed to play one game at home and then one away game. The top two teams from each group will move onto round two. With 16 teams left in the Champions League now the teams will be paired together. Once paired together the teams will play a two game series. Just like the first round each team will be allowed one home game and one away game.
If there is a tie in aggregate scoring after the two games then the deciding factor is which team scored more goals in their away game. If this ends up being a tie as well then the two teams will need to play sudden death overtime. If that doesn’t solve anything then there will be a shootout to determine who advances. The same rules will apply for the next two rounds of the Champions League.
Once there are only two teams left the rules will change slightly. Instead of playing a two game series the championship round is just a single game. The game is played in a city that doesn’t have a team in the game so that no team has the home field advantage for the game. If the game is tied then there is sudden death which is followed by a shootout.
Not only do soccer fans around the world get to witness one of the best soccer events of the year during the UEFA Champions League, but there is also a lot at risk for the teams involved. There is a lot of money at stake in this league for the teams playing in it and most of them need it to help cover some of the salaries of players. This is part of the reason why the Champions League is such high paced and why it has become the number one soccer event of the year.
Sleepers, you kinda see ‘em coming, but they’re never traveling in a straight enough line to consider putting money down on ‘em, especially before they transform from sleepers to actual contenders. Sometimes, though, taking the chance is worth it, especially in college football, where you’ve seen something from most of the players in previous years, and the familiarity of the game plans and opponents can give you a leg up on the betting if you do your research and stick to your guns.
So who are sleepers worth consideration for your gambling dollars for this coming season? Let’s start with the Virginia Tech Hokies, who at 16/1 odds to win the NCAA championship, present an interesting package built around their quarterback Tyrod Taylor. An incredibly agile player, Taylor needs his passing game to produce more than 2 touchdowns this year, but the potential is there early, as he’s shown flashes of in spring practices. The rest of the offense is solid, including star tailback Darren Evans. It’s the passing game that needs to come together. Not only is Taylor trying to extend his game, but he’s not exactly throwing to proven upperclassmen, either. Something will have to gel there, but if it does, that 16/1 payoff looks damn pretty. Their defense, like the Broncos offensive line, will always give you a chance to win. It’s too early to tell how their spring questions will be answered come August, but if a few key guys step up and perform, there will be little to worry about. Tech has a bit of a rough schedule, too, which could help them in the BCS standings if they win all of their home games (where they face most of the difficult tests).
It seems odd to call Ohio State a sleeper. They’re never far off your radar as a college football fan or gambling enthusiast. In fact, by the time November rolls around, you can’t try hard enough to get their fight song out of your head. Still, in 2009, at 10/1 odds early on to take the title, Ohio State isn’t exactly jostling with the top brass right now. You’ve got Oklahoma, Florida, Texas…and the field. And Ohio State may be at the top of the field, but they have to win their way into respect and position this year.
Coming off a 10-3 season, the Buckeyes will see their young QB Terelle Pryor mature in his second season as a starter. Look for a return to dominance from the offensive line, as well, to help give Pryor some time to make smart, calculated decisions and see the field. Tailback position here might start as a bit of RBBC, but expect Dan Herron to break out and get the majority of the carries. Herron had 6 TDs last year, but only 440 yards rushing. He’ll have to improve the yards this year to stay on as the main guy. Defense, like with Tech, is hardly this team’s issue. This is where the Buckeyes do shine, and they can stack up with anyone in Division 1. That said, a couple key losses in Donald Washington and Malcolm Jenkins will be tough to replace. And they won’t get much time to get things going, opening up their schedule at home against Navy and USC. And being in the Big 10, things don’t get much easier the rest of the way for Ohio State.
I’d consider placing bets on both of these teams to win. Hedge your bets by laying something down on the favorites, too, but if one of these teams gets hot and lives up to their potential and school name, 16/1 and 10/1 return will help keep you in the positive long into the NBA season.
